The spine of our history lessons are now great children’s literature, fiction, biographies, and more. We’re loving it! A New Way to Think About History. There were a few things holding my husband and I back before we made the switch to living books for history. You might have the same questions we did. Our curriculum uses real, living books to help us learn about history- not a textbook. I will admit that I didn't even know what a "living book" was until several years into our homeschooling when I discovered Charlotte Mason. I had always used a textbook to learn about history in school, and I had chosen textbooks when I began homeschooling.

  Almost textbook-like, but very much still living literature, this book could be used as a main spine for an Ancient History study. The Bronze Bow is another one of our very favorite books EVER!
